Some reasons ...

Speaking and understanding Spanish enhances your knowledge of local cultures and your opportunities for academic and professional careers anywhere in the world. Spanish is also the language used by many writers, painters, musicians and scientists such as Borges, Neruda, Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende and Picasso, among others.
AsIn the business world, many multinational companies based in Latin American countries are reputable and reliable business partners. Latin American countries are experiencing high economic growth and are becoming important trading partners worldwide. It is expected that the MERCOSUR and the recent free trade agreements between Hispanic countries and North America (ALADI, the Andean Community, CACM, etc..) would provide further growth to Latin American economies.
